MINISTRIES OF THE HEART

       … An Opportunity to Live Our Faith

 A few months ago, Lynnewood was extended an invitation…an invitation to participate in Ministries of the Heart.  The invitation was to engage in a moment of personal outreach, an act of kindness, of your own choosing…of your own heart.

 On September 10^th, we will celebrate Lynnewood’s Ministries of the Heart.  We will rejoice in what our congregation has been doing.  But, September 10^th is only a point in time. Equally important is that it is a celebration of things to come.

Some Hearts outreach is done.  Great things were accomplished.  Great love was shared. Great love was felt.                                                                   

Some Hearts outreach is continuing.  That is good.  There is no end to Ministries of the Heart.                                                                                          

Some Hearts outreach has yet to start, the exciting potential before us.  We look forward to the possibilities.                                                                                     

Ultimately, the invitation is to make service to others an integral part of living our faith…a way of life.  The invitation is to share the grace of God with our world…always.

 O God, open our hearts to your call to live out our faith…to our neighbors, to our friends, to our family…to strangers.  Help us to reach out to those who seem broken and to help us express your love to them.  Amen.
