Kim became a pastor after many
fulfilling years as a college professor. Her Ph.D. focused on modern
Chinese history, and she spent several years living in Taiwan and
China. Traveling, learning other languages, and exploring other
religions certainly shaped her own spiritual journey. While she cared
about her students' academic development, she realized that their
spiritual development was even more vital to their well being. That is
when she started seminary, and is now Lynnewood's Pastor of Christian
Nurture and Discipleship. Kim and her husband, Steve Elliott, have two
children, Gabe and Rebecca.
