Worship Service, Adult Sunday School, and Kids Korner

During the 9:00 hour, infants through kindergarteners are welcome in our Kids Korner in the Fellowship Hall. Parents of elementary aged children are invited to approach an usher for simple activity pages for their children to use while remaining in the service. Adult Sunday School is offered through Soul Sisters and Adult Bible Class.  A traditional worship service is offered in the Sanctuary.

Worship Service and Sunday School

During the 10:30 hour, Sunday School is offered for all children and youth.  Children and youth attend the beginning of the worship service, and following the Children’s Moment, children go to their Sunday School rooms. Middle school Discipleship and Confirmation class meet in the Fellowship Hall after the Children's Moment.  Senior high youth go to their Youth Room after Passing of the Peace.

On the first Sunday of the month, the 10:30 service is a more contemporary worship service.  Join us at the time that best suits your worship style.

Mystery Dinner

For one night only, Lynnewood presents a gala evening of drama, food and fellowship. Come see The Lynnewood Players perform “The Fifth Gospel” Mystery Dinner. Enjoy a delicious dinner provided by the Men’s Group, solve the mystery, and help raise money for the Junior and Senior High SSP Trips.

Souper Bowl Sunday

The soup pots will be out and empty until you help to fill them up! Middle school and senior high youth will be collecting funds following both worship services on Sunday, February 5th. All funds collected go to various service and outreach efforts to be designated by the youth. In the past Open Heart Kitchen, Alameda County Food Bank and Tri-Valley Haven have been recipients of the funds. Look for the youth and Sunday School teachers wearing the NFL Team jerseys and help them feed the hungry by filling their soup pot.

New Church and Society Group meets

Where do the concerns of Church and the issues of society intersect? When does our Christian witness call us to work for change in the Church, and in the secular community and world? Grappling with these questions will be a new group that will have its first meeting Sunday, February 5 at 11:45 a.m.-1:00 p.m. in the library. Click here for more information.

New Interfaith Awareness Group meets

A new group has formed at Lynnewood to which all are invited. The Interfaith Awareness Group seeks to develop interest in our multi-religious community and world. Father Thomas Bonacci, a Catholic priest who has led hundreds of study programs on topics related to interfaith peacemaking and world religions, will be an all-church guest speaker at Lynnewood, Thursday, February 9 at 7:00 pm in the Sanctuary. His topic is "What Christians Should Know about Other Faiths." Click here for more information.

New Member Classes

A class for new members will be held Sundays, March 4, 11, and 18, 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. If you want to learn more about the The United Methodist Church and/or are considering membership, please call the office to register (846-0221).

Staff Open Heart Kitchen Serving Line

Lynnewood has a standing volunteer opportunity at Open Heart Kitchen the 5th Wednesday of the month, when it is our turn to staff the serving line from 2:00pm to 6:30pm.  If you are interested in helping, please sign up at the Outreach table in the courtyard after church.  March 30, 2012, is the next 5th Wednesday.

  • Adult Sunday School at 9:00 a.m.

  • First Sunday each month; all are welcome
