Summer Sundays

Sunday School - Preschool and lower elementary parents: please remember to sign out your child immediately after the worship service.

Children's Summer Sunday Worship Program

All children begin Sunday worship by participating in the church worship in the Sanctuary.  After the Children's Moment, the children may proceed to the Fellowship Hall.  The former nursery has been converted to host a new program called "Kid's Korner" and is open to ages infant through entering Kindergarten.  Age appropriate activities will be offered.  Children entering 1st through 5th grade are welcome to participate in the Children's One Room Sunday School program.

Middle High Youth Summer Sundays

Beginning Sunday, June 20th, youth entering 7th and 8th grades will be challenged to become Player/Coaches in our Summer Sunday School program for elementary aged children. In this role Junior High youth will both participate in our Sunday School program AND assist younger children in their experience. Youth will be trained in their role at the beginning of each Sunday School session so that their full participation will not hampered by family vacation schedules. Periodically throughout the summer, special mission or work projects will be offered to engage junior high youth during the Sunday School hour. Families will be notified in advance of these dates. Or, as is always the case throughout the year, youth are welcome to remain in worship during these summer months.

Senior High Youth Summer Sundays

Beginning in July, High School youth will be splitting their summer Sunday mornings between attending worship and sharing time together in Sunday School. Youth entering 9th -12th grades will be alternating between Sunday School and worship experiences this summer.

Adult Sunday School will not meet during summer.

Our Minds are Open...

Each Sunday we gather to hear a message and the music that will touch us, provoke us and move us, spiritually recharging us for the week to come.

Drawn from Biblical insights, relevant people, places and events, the sermon follows the liturgical calendar.

Our pastor provides worship which enables us to grow spiritually and to understand how we can better face today’s fast-paced and often volatile world.

Our Hearts are Open...

Living our faith through outreach to our world is an integral part of who we are at Lynnewood. We see the power of God's grace when we are serving the needs of others.

Our outreach budget, monthly offerings and activities focus on giving our time and resources to issues such as homelessness, hunger, healthcare, disaster relief and senior care.

Our Ministry Partners include:

Fred Finch Youth Center - quality programs for children, youth and young adults

Habitat for Humanity - building homes for low-income families

Hope Hospice - compassionate care for patients and their families

Open Heart Kitchen - serves the Tri-Valley 10,000 free meals each month

Pleasanton Community Counseling Center - providing low-cost counseling

Pleasanton Gardens - a low-income, senior living community

Tri-valley Haven - serving the hungry in our community

Annual Outreach Activities include:

  • Adult Mission Trips - domestic and international aide efforts
  • Christmas Giving Tree - annual event for underprivileged children
  • Food Drives - collecting food to feed the hungry
  • Heifer International Dinner - helping others help themselves
  • Ministries of the Heart - offering a variety of opportunities
  • Sierra Service Project - youths repairing Native American homes

Our Doors are Open...

Our shared spiritual journey is deepened by diverse points of view and our doors are open to people at all stages of their faith journey.

Lynnewood is a fun, friendly community. In addition to worship and community service, our programs help us become better citizens, more effective parents and more caring people.

Youth programs aim to help young people make appropriate and responsible life choices, value their faith and appreciate a life of service to others.
